Pune-based startupupcyles crop residue into packaging material

Pune-based Craste was founded in 2018 by siblings Shubham Singh and Himansha Singh. They purchase crop residues from farmers and recycles them into packaging material and engineered boards. As per reports, the start-up is being operated under the company name FUMA Labs Private Limited.

India is known to have a flourishing agriculture sector, which further results in a large amount of agricultural waste. Moreover, they are responsible for causing pollution and as per the NCBI data, around 92 million tons of crop residue are burnt.

The sibling duo want to tackle this important issue and have helped create crop waste management startupCraste.The firm repurposes crop waste into moulded packaging, paper products, packaging, and particle boards, and also helps farmers make additional revenue.The startup is also building packaging solutions using crop residue and provide customised packaging solutions to its clients.
